All incoming SGEDU staff will go through a thorough training to ensure all staff feel prepared for each course.

SGEDU Teachers can teach online courses from home using Zoom and in-person courses at various schools in the Greater Boston Area. All course curricula is provided to you so you don't have to plan lessons unless you would like to. You set your weekly hours choosing which days you wish to teach in-person courses, which days to offer online courses, and which days to not teach. Each course will have anywhere from 10 to 20 students enrolled. All SGEDU Teachers must teach at least 2 in-person courses per week. You will also be able to set which days and times to offer 1-on-1 support for students who would like to schedule an online support session with you. You will be expected to show up for class 5 minutes before the class is scheduled to begin with all necessary equipment and software ready to be handed out to students. You will also be expected to drop off all necessary equipment to the school before classes start. There will be a designated storage spot on-site for drop-off. You will be expected to clean up the classroom exactly they way it was before you arrived and put all equipment back into storage at the end of each class.

Applicants will need to get a CORI background check, get fingerprinted, and provide a receipt 2 weeks before classes start.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelors Degree in a related field.

Experience working with children.

Experience with the topic taught by the teacher.

2 professional references.

Preferred Qualifications

A Masters Degree in a related field.

A state issued elementary teaching license.

3 or more years experience teaching in a classroom setting or in a leadership role for a children's program.

A portfolio demonstrating relevant experience in the topic taught by the teacher.
