All incoming SGEDU staff will go through a thorough training to ensure all staff feel prepared for each course.

SGEDU Substitute Teachers teach online courses from home using Zoom and in-person courses at various schools in the Greater Boston Area. Each course will have anywhere from 10 to 20 students enrolled. As an on-call substitute, you will be notified by phone when you're needed to cover an in-person or online course. When you receive the notification from us, you can choose to accept or decline the offer. Upon accepting the offer, you are expected to arrive to class 5 minutes early and have all necessary equipment ready for students in the classroom. You will be expected to clean up the classroom exactly they way it was before you arrived and put all equipment back into storage at the end of each class.

Applicants will need to get a CORI background check, get fingerprinted, and provide a receipt 2 weeks before classes start.
